Environmental Drilling Capabilities
S & S Subsurface Investigations serves the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware area with the most advanced environmental drilling services. Each of our drillers is OSHA-40 certified and has extensive field experience.
Air Rotary Services
Equipment such as the Geoprobe® 7720 facilitates the installation of both partial and shallow bedrock wells with its ability to be adapted to make it operational with a variety of air hammer and air rotary drill bits.
Blow Counts
The features of the Geoprobe® 7720, such as being track mounted and outfitted with a hammer with an auto drop, make the collection of blow counts easier.
Injection
Using Oxygen Release Compound (ORC) powder and ORC filter socks, as well as other products, allows passive remediation to be effectively performed.
Direct Push Sampling
By using direct push sampling, discrete location collection of samples of soil, groundwater and soil gas can be obtained to allow for fine-tuned contaminant delineation.
Geotechnical Drilling
Geotechnical drilling is a methodology that uses various drilling methods to test rock and/or soil samples to confirm the stability of a structure that is slated to be developed.
Drilling Methods
- Air Rotary
- Air Rotary with ODEX/TUBEX
- Hollow Stem Auger
- Mud Rotary
- Soil Borings & Sampling
- Split Spoon Sampling
- Blow Counts
- Low Clearance and Remote Access
Permit Requirements
S & S Subsurface Investigations obtains all necessary well and/or boring permits before beginning operations. The required well and boring records are completed only by a licensed and experienced professional driller. Each member of our drilling crew is trained in the appropriate HAZMAT operations.
